Our collaboration with the ‘Guy of Warwick Society’ seeks to immerse both locals and visitors in the rich tapestry of Warwick’s past, celebrating the legendary figure of Guy of Warwick.
In our cellar, the underground tunnels lead to the heart of the castle where legends were once born. So, come on in, pull up a chair, make yourself cosy; grab a pint and a bite and let us take you back in time….
The legend
Guy of Warwick
was a 10th-century English hero who travelled the world on a series of daring adventures to impress the Earl of Warwick’s daughter – Lady Felice – and win her hand in marriage.
Guy was a humble cupbearer, at the court of Earl of Warwick and when declared his love for Felice, he was rejected for being too ‘low-born’. So, what is a man supposed to do. He had to go out and prove himself worthy of her.
